Hello Fighting Illini fans!

My name is Miranda Gallardo and I am a sophomore from Buena Park, California. I am majoring in Information Science with a focus on data analysis. Although I didn't get to experience a full freshman year at Illinois because of the Coronavirus, I feel like am prepared for this year's irregular season. We arrived to campus early to start practice before our classes started and just completed two weeks of practice. We push each other and keep each other focused through team and individual challenges that bring out our competitive side. Mental training is also a big part of our days. This year we watched a documentary about the great Michael Jordan and were able to take away many valuable lessons. Classes start on January 25^th and I am very excited. As a team we work just as hard in the classroom as we do on the softball field. Last semester we ended with a high team GPA of 3.68 and we are ready to continue that success in the classroom. I am excited for the future and can't wait to play with my teammates!
