CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Former Illini Arianna Veland signed her first professional contract with the FC Würzburger Kickers of Germany, the club announced. Veland played 74 games for Illinois from 2016-19 before beginning her professional career.
Veland was a three-year starter as a midfielder for the Illini. She scored 10 goals, including a career-high five as a senior in 2019.
Veland is a native of Elkhorn, Nebraska, and starred at Elkhorn South. She was a three-time all-conference performer in high school and a Omaha World Herald Honorable Mention All-State selection.
Veland joins FC Würzburger for the 2020-21 season.
