NORMAN, Okla. – The Fighting Illini men's golf program was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) for its success in the classroom when the organization announced its 2019-20 Outstanding Team Academic Awards.
The GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Awards honor programs across all collegiate levels – NCAA Divisions I, II and II; NAIA; and NJCAA Divisions I and II – that record a team grade-point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better. A total of 250 programs were honored for this academic year.
In addition, the Illini were one of 60 NCAA Division I programs to earn President's Special Recognition honors for compiling a team GPA of better than 3.5.
It marks the fourth consecutive year that the Illini have been recognized with the GCAA Outstanding Team Academic Award.
