ITA Release
URBANA, Ill. – The University of Illinois women's tennis team was named to the Division I ITA All-Academic Team the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced on Monday. Five Illini also lauded ITA All-Academic Scholar-Athlete honors.
The Illini were one of 244 women's tennis teams to garner the award. The ITA All-Academic Team award is presented to teams who earn a team GPA of 3.20 or higher. Additionally, all varsity letter winners are factored into the overall team GPA for the current academic year.
Recent graduate Madeleine Gandawidjaja, rising senior Mia Rabinowitz, and rising sophomores, Emily Casati, Josie Frazier and Ashley Yeah earned ITA All-Academic Scholar-Athlete honors. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must have a GPA of 3.50 or higher for the current academic year.
Rabinowitz earns the recognition for the second time in her career, after receiving the award in 2018. The honor marks a first for Gandawidjaja, Casati, Frazier and Yeah.
