CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois sophomore catcher Jacob Campbell was named to the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Watch List, the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced. 

Campbell has started 11 games behind the dish for Illinois this season. He his hitting .333 (7-21) over the last six games and was named to the Frisco Classic All-Tournament Team on March 1 after getting two hits and two RBIs to help Illinois beat No. 23 Oklahoma State. 

The 60-catcher watch list will be narrowed down to semifinalists on May 19 and finalists will be announced June 3. The winner will be announced at the 23rd Annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet on June 25. 

Oregon State's Adley Rutschman, the top overall pick in 2019, won last year's award.
