URBANA, Ill. – The Illinois women's tennis team fell, 4-0, to Oklahoma on Sunday at Atkins Tennis Center. The Illini move to 4-9 on the season, while Oklahoma improves to 5-3 overall.

Oklahoma got on the board early, taking the point in doubles competition. At No. 1, Carmen and Ivana Corley of Oklahoma powered past junior Emilee Duong and freshman Josie Frazier, 6-1. The Sooners' Camila Romero and Martina Capurro defeated junior Mia Rabinowitz and freshman Ashley Yeah to clinch the point in the doubles matches.

Not long into singles action, the Sooners were able to collect two points. Ivana Corley won 6-1, 6-2 over freshman Emily Casati and 76th ranked Capurro recorded a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Rabinowitz at courts No. 6 and No. 1, respectively. Carmen Corley clinched the match after battling past Duong 6-4, 6-3.

Junior Sasha Belaya, Frazier and Yeah were halted at No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 singles, respectively. All three Illini won their first set, while Belaya lost her second before stopping at 1-1 in the third set. Frazier was down 1-5 and Yeah was tied 3-3 in their second sets.

The Fighting Illini will begin conference play when they take on Purdue on Sunday, March 8 at 11 a.m. CT at Atkins Tennis Center.

The match will be host to Breakfast at Atkins, and fans are encouraged to join the Illini and enjoy free Bob Evans Brunch. The Orange and Blue will also be giving away I-L-L socks. Fans will receive one sock that has "I-L-L" written on it, and will receive the "I-N-I" sock at the men's tennis match that follows at 3 p.m. CT.
