ABOUT SOUTHERN ILLINOIS: Southern Illinois enters Tuesday's game with a 3-2 record, coming off of a 79-43 loss on Sunday at Missouri. Following a 65-52 home loss to Eastern Michigan in their season opener, the Salukis won three consecutive home games - Dec. 12 vs. Austin Peay (72-54), Dec. 13 vs. Southeast Missouri State (67-51), and  Dec. 7 vs. Kansas City (79-68) - prior to their first road contest at Mizzou. The experience-laden roster is led by a trio of double-digit senior scorers in guard Mackenzie Silvey (13.8 ppg), forward Abby Brockmeyer (13.8 ppg), and forward Gabby Walker (11.4 ppg). Brockmeyer also ranks as the team's top rebounder at 8.8 boards per contest. The Salukis average 62.6 points per game, while giving up an average of 63.4 points per contest. Through games played Dec. 19, SIU ranks among the NCAA leaders in several categories including No. 16 in assist-to-turnover ratio (+1.4), ranking 34th nationally in assists per contest (17.5), and 27th in turnovers per game (12.5).Â
