CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois head coach Bret Bielema, his wife Jen, and daughters Briella and Brexli arrived in Champaign on Sunday. Bielema was hired on Saturday and began his duties as head coach immediately. 

Bielema touched down shortly after 11 a.m. CT before going to Illinois' home at the Smith Football Center, the Illini's world-class 107,650 square foot, $79.2 million facility which opened in August 2019. He received a tour of the facility with Director of Athletics Josh Whitman and met with the team during his first day at his new home. 

Bielema's introductory press conference is scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m. CT. The press conference will be streamed on Facebook Live and FightingIllini.com.
