ABOUT MICHIGAN: No. 19/19 Michigan enters Saturday's game with a 5-0 non-conference record, including road wins at Oakland (95-62) and at Notre Dame (76-66). Most recently, the Wolverines rolled to big wins at home over Wright State (82-59) on Dec. 6 and vs. Butler (93-54) on Dec. 9. Junior F Naz Hillmon, the Big Ten's Preseason Co-Player of the Year as voted by the league's coaches, paces the Wolverines attack at 24.8 points per game and 9.2 rebounds per contest. Hillmon is one of four UM players averaging double-figures scoring alongside junior G/F Leigha Brown (18.0 ppg), graduate G Akienreh Johnson (10.3), and senior F Hailey Brown (10.2). The Wolverines average 87.8 points per game, while holding opponents to 63.2 per contest. The team ranks among the NCAA leaders in several categories including No. 5 in field goal percentage (.531), No. 10 in assists per game (20.2), and No. 18 in both scoring offense (87.8 ppg) and scoring margin (+24.6). 

SERIES VS. MICHIGAN: Saturday's matchup is the 76th in the series between the Illini and the Wolverines. Illinois leads the all-time series, 40-35, including a 20-13 advantage in games played in Champaign. The Illini are looking to snap a five-game Michigan win streak overall, and a two-game slide in Champaign. The last Illini win in the series was Feb. 28, 2015, a 72-60 victory at State Farm Center.

UP NEXT: The Illini face their final non-conference matchup of the season, hosting Southern Illinois at State Farm Center on Tuesday, Dec. 22. The Salukis, off to a 2-1 start, are scheduled to host Kansas City on Thursday, Dec. 17. Tipoff between the Illini and the Salukis is set for 2 p.m. CT.
