CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Illinois men's tennis head coach Brad Dancer announced the addition of Alexander Petrov to the program for the 2021 season.
"We are excited about adding Alex to our program. He's an intelligent young man that can handle the rigors of Illinois," said Dancer. "In addition, Alex dreams big. He's athletic, fast as lightning, and wants to be the best. He's going to be a tremendous fit with our culture."
Petrov is a five-star recruit and the No. 6 ranked recruit from California according the Tennis Recruiting Network.
"The reason I chose Illinois is because I viewed it as the perfect place to develop my athletic abilities and further my tennis career, and at the same time get an education," said Petrov. "I believe that the balance between those things is the reason I chose this University."
