CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, Student Affairs and Block I student section will host a student-only watch party on Friday night at Memorial Stadium to celebrate the Illinois football season opener at Wisconsin, with weather permitting. Game time is set for 7 PM on the Big Ten Network, and gates open at 6:30 PM.
This watch party will begin at 6:30 PM with the Big Ten Network pregame show and lead into the game against No. 14 Wisconsin in Madison. Students should enter the West side of the Stadium and the first groups to arrive will have field access. Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the stadium.
The first 60 seniors will receive a Block I Pints glass. All students in attendance will also receive an Illini Pride facemask, while supplies last.
Students will have an opportunity to take part in the long-standing tradition of the student section with a Block I card stunt at halftime. This event will allow students to be a part of the student section tradition despite being unable to attend home games this season.
This event will be open to all students using the Safer Illinois app and their student I-Card. Face masks will be required, and all students should adhere to social distancing guidelines during their whole time at this event.
