Women's Gymnastics Announces 2020 Promotional Schedule

CHAMPAIGN, Illinois - Illinois Women's Gymnastics has announced its 2020 promotional schedule, featuring attractions at each home date. The fun begins Thursday, when the No. 6 Fighting Illini take on Temple and Lindenwood.

Thursday's theme is Fitness Night, which will feature the first-ever Fitness Night Challenge. Teams from fitness gyms across the Champaign-Urbana community will compete in fitness challenges. Competitors will receive water bottles and have a chance to win prizes during competition. After the meet will be a dance party.

Other promotions include Character Day on January 18, which will feature television and celebrity characters in costume at Huff Hall as Illinois hosts Michigan. There will also be a free youth clinic for children in eighth grade and younger and a post-meet autograph session. February 7 will feature both Alumni Night and Military Appreciation when the Illini welcome Penn State to Huff Hall. Gymnasts will sign autographs after the meet.

Valentine's Day is Daddy-Daughter night at Huff Hall as the Illini take on Western Michigan, featuring a flower giveaway, craft decorations, and a charity Chuck-a-Duck. The final home meet of 2020 sees the Illini take on Central Michigan. This meet features both Senior Day and Scout Day, as the Illini will honor their senior class, and girl scouts will have the opportunity to earn scout patches.
