COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Ali Andrews and freshman Kennedi Myles led the Illinois women's basketball team in a 77-47 setback to Ohio State in Value City Arena on Sunday (Jan. 19).
Andrews turned in a team-high 14 points after going 5-for-8 from the field, including four three-pointers to move her into seventh place all-time with 136 career treys. Myles notched her sixth double-double of the season with 12 points – on 6-of-14 shooting – and 11 rebounds to go along with three steals to tie the freshman record for double-doubles in a season. Senior Brandi Beasley added a season-high six assists.
The Buckeyes grabbed an early 16-8 advantage in the opening quarter, but an 8-0 run – on back-to-back threes from Andrews and freshman Jeanae Terry to close out the first and an Andrews layup to start the second, tied things up at 16-16. From there it was back and forth as a layup from senior Cierra Rice brought the Illini within one at 27-26, before OSU finished the period with five-straight points to take a 32-26 edge at halftime.
Out of the break, back-to-back threes from Ali Andrews knotted the score at 37-37, but a 19-0 run from the Buckeyes gave the home team a 56-37 edge in the fourth as OSU went on for the 77-47 win.
Illinois returns home to State Farm Center to host No. 20/20 Maryland on Thursday (Jan. 23) at 7 p.m. CT.

- Freshman Kennedi Myles registered her sixth double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 Rebounds, equaling the most double-doubles for a freshman in program history. She joins Chatrice White (2014-15), Kendra Gantt (1981-82) and Jenna Smith (2006-07).
- Myles reached double digits in scoring for the 11th time this season and the seventh time in rebounding. It was also the 13th game that Myles has led the Illini on the boards.
- Senior Brandi Beasley tied a season-high with six assists against the Buckeyes.
- Freshman Jeanae Terry continued her consistent play with seven rebounds, five points and three assists.
- Redshirt-junior Petra Holešínská converted one three-pointer to move her career total to 138 and is just 11 treys away from moving into a tie with Kyley Simmons (2015-16) with 149 threes.
