Bradley Beats Illinois 12-8 at Illinois Field

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- Bradley hit six home runs Tuesday to beat the Illinois baseball team 12-8 at Illinois Field. Illinois hit three home runs in the fourth inning to take an 8-7 lead but was blanked over the next five innings.

"We need to get some things figured out," said head coach Dan Hartleb. "We need to be more consistent. There are days we have been really good. We still have a chance to be a really good team."

Bradley (23-10) extended its winning streak to 11 games, the longest active streak in the nation. The Braves' six homers tied for the fourth-most home runs in Bradley history and tied the programs' most against a Division I opponent since hitting six at Missouri State 4/15/2001.

Illinois (22-13) got homers from Grant Van Scoy, Jacob Campbell and Michael Massey in the span of four batters in the fourth. Van Scoy had three hits in the game, while Massey, Ben Troike and Cam McDonald added two apiece.

The Illini are home again this weekend, hosting Penn State for a Big Ten series Friday-Sunday. Bradley and Illinois are scheduled to play again next Tuesday at Dozer Park in Peoria, Illinois.
