URBANA, Ill. - Illinois and head coach Evan Clark have announced the addition of Emily Casati to the Fighting Illini women's tennis program. Casati, the younger sister of former Illini Alexis Casati, is ranked as a five-star recruit and the class's number one player in the state of Illinois. The Deerfield High School product will join the Orange and Blue for the 2019-20 campaign.
"We are very excited to welcome Emily to the Illini family," Clark said. "Emily is a great person that comes from a great family and I know she is going to be a great college tennis player. She is an extremely gifted athlete and competitor and she has all the tools. We know with all of her ability and skill that she will develop at a very high rate and will thrive in the college tennis setting. What we love most is her love and passion for the University of Illinois. She understands what a special place this is and this is the only place she wanted to be. For those reasons, we know she will do some very special things once she arrives on campus. We are thrilled to have her in the Orange and Blue come next fall."
With the addition of Casati, Illinois' 2019 recruiting class is now ranked 14th nationally, according to tennisrecruiting.net.
