URBANA, Ill. - The Fighting Illini women's tennis team capped off a perfect 4-0 homestand on Sunday, as Illinois took down Baylor, 6-1, inside of Atkins Tennis Center. The win marks the ninth-straight home victory for the Illini, who will now get set for the Blue Gray Championships, held in Montgomery, Alabama, Feb. 22-23. 

Illinois put itself ahead early, winning the doubles point for the fourth time this season. Kawai/Rabinowitz were first to finish, taking down Parker/Adames, 6-1, on court five. Switkes/Duong clinched the early one-point advantage for the Orange and Blue with a 6-2 victory over Hinojosa/Barañano on court three. 

UI quickly jumped ahead further in singles play, as sophomore Sasha Belaya earned the victory on court five after Shakhraichuk abandoned the match due to injury. The Illini then got wins from both Daniela Pedraza Novak and Asuka Kawai. Novak cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win over Stephanie Adames on court six and Kawai clinched the match for Illinois, defeating Hinojosa, 6-2, 7-5, on court one. 

The two teams played out the remaining matches and Illinois continued to extend its lead. Sophomore Mia Rabinowitz earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Barañano on court three and fellow-sophomore Emilee Duong took down Kris Sorokolet, 6-0, 3-6, 6-2, on court four. 

Baylor's lone point came on court two, as No. 70 Livia Kraus defeated senior Jaclyn Switkes 6-2, 5-7 1-0(5).
