CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini debuted a new throwback uniform for Monday's B1G/ACC Challenge game against Miami. The new throwback whites, inspired by Illini teams from 1975-1980, feature the ILLINOIS script font worn during those seasons, a diamond trim on the shorts framing the current Block I logo, and the Illinois throwback number system.
Illinois now has five different uniforms available for the 2019-20 season, the newly updated white, orange and navy current uniforms, plus two throwback sets – orange 1989 Flyin' Illini throwbacks and now the white late '70s throwbacks. The '89 throwbacks are the only set that was worn last season. The other four uniform designs are all new for 2019-20.
