Cockburn, Dunks Dominate in Illini Rout of Aggies

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Kofi Cockburn scored a career-high 26 points to lead Illinois in a 95-64 win over North Carolina A&T on Sunday afternoon at State Farm Center.

The freshman shot 11-of-16 from the floor and pulled down nine rebounds.

Ayo Dosunmu scored 19 points and Alan Griffin added 18 and drained a career-high four 3-pointers.

Up next, Illinois heads to East Lansing, Michigan to face the Spartans on Thursday, Jan. 2.

Postgame Notes

• Illinois improved to 9-4 on the season and 1-0 all-time against North Carolina A&T.
• Kofi Cockburn's 26 points were a career-high, topping the 23 points he had at Grand Canyon and vs. Miami.
• Alan Griffin fell one shy of his career scoring high, finishing with 18 points. His four made 3-pointers marked a career high.
• Giorgi Bezhanishvili tied his career high with five assists in just 16 minutes.
