Arayah Simons is a freshman from Richmond, Georgia. A two-time Level 10 Junior Olympic National qualifier, she joins the Illini as a decorated club gymnast.
Why did you choose Illinois?
I chose Illinois because I connected with the girls and coaches automatically. The environment really felt like family.
What are you looking forward to most about college gymnastics?
I am looking forward to winning Big Tens and going to nationals!
When you were five years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I thought I was going to go to the Olympics of be an archaeologist.
When did you first get into gymnastics?
I started when I was three years old.
