CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The University of Illinois men's gymnastics team and head coach Justin Spring announced the signing of Ethan Boder, Josh Cook, Will Hauke, Sebastian Ingersoll and Logan Myers to join the Fighting Illini gymnastics program in 2021. Cook will compete for the Illini in the upcoming 2020 season.

"This year's recruiting class is one for the records books!  It's a very big and complete class that gives us the depth and heavy hitting score power we need to get to the top of the podium," said head coach Justin Spring. "We're very excited about these guys and their potential to do great things in the NCAA world and beyond!"

The Illini landed the most top-25 recruits, with Cook earning the highest ranking at No. 7 with a four-and-a-half-star rating. Hauke ranked at No. 12, while Myers ranked No. 14, both with a four-star rating, and Ingersoll and Broder both received a three-and-a-half-star rating at the No. 16 and No. 19 spot in the rankings, respectively. Illinois also added two three-star recruits.

With the most top-25 recruits inked, the Orange and Blue claimed No. 3 as a team in the recruiting class rankings behind No. 1 Penn State and No. 2 Stanford. Penn State had the second most recruits in the top-25 with five, while Stanford totaled three, landing the top recruit. Oklahoma tied with Stanford with three recruits in the top-25, Michigan tallied two, and six other teams had one recruit earn a spot in the rankings.

Illinois finished the 2019 campaign ranked No. 5 in the standings behind Stanford, Oklahoma, Nebraska and Michigan. The Illini finished the season ahead of No. 6 Penn State.
