Freshmen Shine in Annual Orange and Blue Exhibition

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Fighting Illini swimming and diving team held its annual Orange and Blue Intra-Squad exhibition Saturday at the ARC Pool. The Blue team knocked off the Orange team for the first time since 2015, outscoring their opponent 118.50-98.50.
200 medley relay - Heimes, Sanders, Corzine & Curtis (1:49.06)
200 freestyle - Megan Vuong (1:57.41)
50 freestyle - Kristin Anderson (:24.99)
200 individual medley - Sarah Cano (2:11.98)
100 butterfly - Rebecca Corzine (:59.12)
100 freestyle - Megan Vuong (:53.96)
100 backstroke - Kaylee Heimes (:58.34)
500 freestyle - Monica Guyett & Emily Martin (5:12.58)
100 breaststroke - Jimena Martinez (1:10.09)
200 freestyle relay - Anderson, Vuong, Guyett & Bolger (1:38.98)
On the Boards
Making her collegiate debut, freshman diver Taylor Shegos impressed in 1-meter diving competition, finishing with a six-dive total of 231.25 to finish first in the event. Lauren LaPeter finished second with a 207.65, followed by Elizabeth Rumsey (199.95) and Ling Kuhn (187.60).
Competing for the blue team, Kuhn led the way in 3-meter diving, totaling a score of 254.00, while Shegos and Rumsey weren't far behind, finishing with scores of 228.75 and 228.20, respectively. LaPeter rounded out the divers at 196.75.
