CHAMPAIGN – Fighting Illini women's basketball, head coach Nancy Fahey and the Big Ten Conference announced the 2018-19 season schedule on Tuesday. The Orange and Blue are in store for an exciting slate in Fahey's second season at the helm of the program.
SCHEDULE NOTES
> The Illini will take on 12 teams who saw postseason action during the 2017-18 season, including 2018 Postseason WNIT Champion, Indiana. The Orange and Blue will welcome seven 2018 NCAA Tournament teams to the State Farm Center this season.
> The 2018-19 nonconference slate features eight home contests, including four weekend matchups, beginning on Wednesday, November 7 against Alabama A&M.
> UI will travel to San Luis Obispo, California for the ShareSLO Holiday Beach Classic. There the Orange and Blue will play two games, facing Sacramento State and Cal Poly.
> The 2018 ACC/B1G Challenge will pit Illinois against Clemson on November 28 in Clemson, South Carolina. The Orange and Blue are 2-2 against the Tigers, and have traveled to Clemson, South Carolina for three of the previous four matchups. Illinois took the most recent meeting against the Tigers, in a 61-50 victory.
> The Illini are set to close nonconference play against Missouri on December 21. The Tigers are coming off of a 24-8 campaign in 2017-18 that concluded in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
> Illinois will play an 18-game Big Ten schedule. It is the sixth time in the last 12 years the conference has played an 18-game schedule. Illinois will face five schools both home and away and play the eight remaining schools once. Of the single-play opponents, the Illini will play four at home and four on the road.
> UI will open Big Ten play on Friday, December 28, hosting Indiana.
> Illinois' regular season finale is set for March 2 at Maryland. The Illini will close the home slate on February 24 against Penn State.
> The Big Ten Tournament is set for March 6-10 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
SEASON TICKETS
Season tickets for the 2018-19 Fighting Illini women's basketball season are available now. Fans can renew, upgrade or purchase new season tickets online, at the Illinois ticket office located inside the West Main entrance of State Farm Center, or by phone at 1-866-ILLINI-1. The renewal deadline for season tickets will be September 14. Fans who renew by September 1 will receive a replica State Farm Center that they can redeem at a game this season.
General admission women's basketball season tickets are available for $40 each, while reserved season tickets are available for $75. Fans also can purchase a combined women's basketball/volleyball season ticket for $55 each. This includes general admission seats for both the Fighting Illini Volleyball and Fighting Illini Women's Basketball home competitions.
New this season, the Orange and Blue are offering season tickets for floor seating, available for just $55 each. Floor seating will be reserved, and is located behind the team benches. A limited quantity of prime courtside seating is also available for $100 per seat.
