CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – As announced last fall, the University of Illinois Division of Intercollegiate Athletics will adopt a clear bag policy for entrance into Memorial Stadium for the 2018 football season. Illinois joins the other 13 Big Ten schools with either a clear bag or no bag policy.
Each ticketed guest can carry one (1) large clear bag – either a one-gallon Ziploc-style bag, clear drawstring bag not to exceed 12" x 12" or clear bag tote no larger than 12" x 6" x 12" – plus a small clutch purse (4.5" x 7.0"). The small clutch allows privacy for small personal items and also is easily searched. Fans are encouraged to bring only necessary items into Memorial Stadium and all bags are subject to search and inspection.
Season ticket accounts have received a voucher, included in their season ticket booklet, for a free clear bag tote from Illinois' official retailer Gameday Spirit. Vouchers are good for pickup at either Champaign location on Green Street and South Neil, as well as on game day at kiosks in Grange Grove and on east side of the Memorial Stadium near portal 6.
Clear bag totes are also currently available for sale at both Gameday Spirit locations for $10 and through their online store.
Additional items not permitted inside Memorial Stadium include flags/banners, noisemakers, weapons, non-clear bags, coolers or containers, laptops, video recorders, selfie sticks, umbrellas and strollers.
