CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois volleyball team announced a full slate of marketing promotions for home matches at Huff Hall in 2018. The 13th annual Stuff Huff (September 29), Pink Match (October 20) and IlliNOISE Night (November 10) highlight the list of Fighting Illini volleyball promotions.
One of the most popular Illini promotions, Stuff Huff returns for its 13th season on Saturday, September 29 as the Illini take on defending National Champion Nebraska at 7 p.m. CT. Stuff Huff is renowned for its vast crowds, as the Illini have averaged over 2,800 fans per match, with 3,000+ crowds in 2006, 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017. Prior to the match, Spike Squad and the DIA Marketing & Promotions staff will host an outdoor carnival for Illinois students. The event will feature inflatables, free food and music.
The fifth-annual IlliNOISE Night is set for Saturday, November 10 when Illinois battles against Penn State at 7 p.m. CT. It has been said by coaches, opponents, fans and media members alike that Huff Hall has the loudest volleyball atmosphere in the country, and the Fighting Illini plan to prove it. The Marketing & Promotions Staff will be giving away earplugs and taking a decibel meter reading during the match to put a number to just how loud Huff Hall truly is. Last season the Huff Hall crowd hit a decibel reading of 116 dB. This season, the Illini will attempt to break that record yet again.
