CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The University of Illinois football team will host its annual Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, Aug. 18. The team will hold an open practice at Memorial Stadium from 3-5 p.m., followed by an on-field fan event from 5-6 p.m.
The annual preseason event gives Illini fans a chance to interact with their favorite players and coaches. Get a sneak preview of the 2018 edition of the Fighting Illini football team, led by third year head coach Lovie Smith, during the open practice session prior to the on-field activities.
The event is free and open to the public. Gates open at 2:30 p.m., and fans should enter through Gate 24. The West main stands and West balcony will be open for fan viewing during the practice. Parking will be available in the State Farm Center lots.
OPEN CALL FOR FANS: The Fighting Illini Productions Video team will be shooting various content for the 2018 video board shows for the football season. The video staff is looking for kids third grade and under and loyal fans to take part in on-camera shoots in the Southwest corner of Memorial Stadium from 5-6 p.m. Please wear Illini gear.
VIP EXPERIENCE: Fans have a chance to upgrade their Fan Appreciation Day with VIP experiences. Fans can enjoy the final 20 minutes of practice on the Memorial Stadium field and go to the front of the line for autographs and pictures with Illinois head football coach Lovie Smith. Download and log on to the official Illini mobile app and select "Fighting Illini Upgrades" to purchase the VIP package.
VOLLEYBALL EXHIBITION: Following the football fan event, head over to Huff Hall and watch the nationally ranked Illini volleyball team host a preseason Orange and Blue scrimmage at 7 p.m. All tickets will be general admission – $8 for adults and $4 youth (12 and under). | Volleyball Schedule
SEASON TICKETS: A number of other season ticket options are currently on sale in the Illinois Ticket Office. Tickets for all six home games for reserved seats are $299 in the prime area, $225 on the sideline, $149 in the orange zone and $119 in the horseshoe and blue zone. Premium seats in the Colonnades Club are available for just $999. Fans can also purchase mobile pass season tickets for $99, which provide ticket holders guaranteed seats, but in a different location each game.
MINI PLANS: Two- and three-game mini plans are on sale for the 2018 Illinois football season. Two-game plans are available for just $70 for games against Purdue on Oct. 13 and vs. Minnesota on Nov. 3. For just an additional $10 fans can upgrade to the three-game plan and add the season opener vs. Kent State on Sept. 1. Seats are located in the Orange and Blue zones, and the Horseshoe.
SINGLE GAME TICKETS: Single-game tickets for 2018 Fighting Illini football season start as low as $20 for non-conference games or $35 for Big Ten competition. Fans can also purchase four-pack options for the season opener vs. Kent State – four tickets for $49 – and vs. Penn State – four tickets for $69.
