ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The No. 11 Fighting Illini women's tennis team fell to the No. 24 Michigan Wolverines, 4-0 on Saturday at the Varsity Tennis Center. Illinois moves to 16-3 overall this season and 5-2 in Big Ten play.
The Wolverines jumped out to an early lead with two wins on the doubles courts. In singles play, Michigan's Kate Fahey topped Jaclyn Switkes, 6-1, 6-0. Chiara Lommer defeated Daniela Pedraza-Novak, 6-2, 6-4 and Brienne Minor clinched the match on court two for the Wolverines.
Up next, the Illini remain in state of Michigan for another 11 am CT contest against the Michigan State Spartans in East Lansing on Sunday.Â
