URBANA, Ill. – The No. 8 Fighting Illini men's tennis team celebrated Senior Day on Sunday with a 6-1 win over the Minnesota Gophers. The Illini cap the 2018 regular season with a 19-6 overall record and 10-1 mark in Big Ten play.

The Illini grabbed the doubles point on Sunday with wins on courts one and two. Senior Aleks Vukic and sophomore Aleks Kovacevic topped Spec and Ogilvy, 6-3 on court two. Playing at the No. 1 position for just the second time this season, freshmen Alex Brown and Caleb Chakravarthi clinched the point, 6-4 over Corwin and Krstanovic.

In singles play, sophomore Zeke Clark extended his winning streak to nine matches with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Vlad Lobak at the No. 5 position. Kovacevic continued his winning ways with a 7-5, 6-0 victory on court four. Chakravarthi sealed the match victory for Illinois, 6-3, 6-4 on six.

Illinois will travel to the Iowa for the 2018 Big Ten Tournament this week. The Illini will begin play on Friday afternoon in Iowa City.
