COLUMBUS –  The No. 15 Fighting Illini women's tennis team fell to the Ohio State Buckeyes, 4-3 on Friday afternoon at the Varsity Tennis Courts. Illinois moves to 19-4 overall this season and 8-3 in Big Ten play.

Doubles action saw the Illini grab the doubles point for the 19^th time this season with wins on courts two and three. Freshman Emilee Duong gave Illinois a 2-0 advantage with a dominating 6-1, 6-1 win on court six. Ohio State responded with singles wins at the No. 2 and 3 positions to tie the match at 2-all. Fellow-freshman Mia Rabinowitz extended her winning streak to 10 matches after defeating Emma DeCoste, 6-4, 6-1 on court four and give the Illini a 3-2 lead. In the end, the Buckeyes would seal the match with match victories on courts five and one.

Up next, the Illini conclude the 2018 regular season at Penn State on Sunday. The match will begin at 10 am CT.
