GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Nine Illinois baseball players combined for 14 hits, eight for extra bases, in a 15-4 win over Michigan State at Fluor Field. The Illini won their sixth straight game.
Illinois (7-3) was productive up and down its lineup. Ben Troike had three hits and three walks, Bren Spillane homered and drove in three runs and Michael Massey had three hits along with a career-best tying four RBIs.
Troike, Spillane and Massey all scored three runs apiece, as the Illini were up 10-0 by the middle of the sixth inning. Illinois scored in five straight frames, putting up two in the fourth, three in the fifth, five in the sixth, two in the seventh and three in the eighth.
Illinois scored its most runs since May 10, 2015, when the Illini beat Rutgers 28-13 at Illinois Field. Seven of nine starters had at least one hit and all nine either scored a run or drove in a run.
Quinn Snarskis (1-0) picked up the first win of his Illini career. He went six innings, allowing one earned run on six hits while striking out three in his second straight Friday start.
Quinten Sefcik pitched a scoreless 2 2/3 innings to finish the game.
The Illini are back at Fluor Field for a Saturday doubleheader against Furman and Michigan State. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. CT/ 1 p.m. ET.

• Illinois tied its longest winning streak since its 27-game streak in 2015. Illinois also won six straight in 2016.
• Illinois snapped a six-game errorless streak, the program's second longest since 1978.
• Illinois had more errors against Michigan State (3) than it had in the first eight games of the season (2).
• Ben Troike extended his career-long hitting streak to 15 games.
