PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The No. 11 Illinois women's tennis team won their fifth-straight match on Friday afternoon by defeating the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, 6-1, at the East Brunswick Racquet Club. The Illini boast a 15-2 overall record and 4-1 mark in conference play.                   

Illinois clinched the doubles point for the sixth-straight match on Friday morning. The No. 59-ranked pairing of freshman Sasha Belaya and junior Daniela Pedraza-Novak defeated Du and Muzik, 6-1. At the No. 3 position, freshman Mia Rabinowitz and senior Grace Tapak clinched their first point as a doubles pairing, 6-0 over Jacobs and Levy.

Rabinowitz was first off the singles courts with a 6-0, 6-2 with on court three. Tapak won her match by the same score over Isabelle Da Silva. Junior Jaclyn Switkes clinched the Illini victory, 6-2, 6-3 on court one.

Up next, the Illini return to the Atkins Tennis Center for an 11 am match against the Maryland Terrapins on Sunday. Illinois is 8-1 at home this season.
