HONOLULU – The No. 7 Fighting Illini women's tennis team swept the Hawaii Rainbow Wahine, 5-0, on Wednesday night in Honolulu. Illinois has now won three-straight matches and improves to 13-2 overall this season.

In doubles play, freshman Sasha Belaya and junior Daniela Pedraza-Novak clinched the early advantage for the Illini with a 6-3 win against Pribylova and Dolakova on court one. The duo has now won five-straight doubles matches.

The Illini continued to win on the singles courts. Freshman Emilee Duong was first off the court with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Klara Pribylova at the No. 4 position. Fellow-freshman Mia Rabinowitz pushed the Illinois advantage to 3-0 with a 6-4, 6-1 victory against Marina Hruba. In the end, Belaya and senior Grace Tapak finished their matches simultaneously to clinch the Illinois sweep.

Up next, the Illini travel back to the mainland for a Saturday afternoon contest with the UC-Santa Barbara Gauchos. First serve between the two teams is scheduled for 2 pm CT.
