United Soccer Coaches Release
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Fighting Illini Soccer has been recognized by the United Soccer Coaches today, as a recipient of the Team Academic Award. The Illini earn the award with a combined grade point average of 3.44.Â
The recognition is given annually to teams across the country for exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year. Teams must have a minimum composite GPA of 3.0. Illinois has earned the Team Academic Award for 18 consecutive years.Â
Coming off of a 1-0 shutout of Michigan State, the Orange and Blue are set to face Maryland tonight at 5 p.m. CT. The match will air live on the Big Ten Network.Â
