LAS VEGAS – Junior Nick Hardy continued to lead Illinois through the final round at the Southern Highlands Collegiate on Wednesday as he used a 3-under par final round score to earn his second consecutive top-10 finish this spring. As a team, the Orange and Blue closed the tournament 12-over par after a 1-over par final round tally. The Illini finished in eighth overall as USC (-11), Oklahoma State (-1) and Texas Tech (+3) composed the top three teams.

Hardy finished the tournament with a total score 3-under par as he carded four birdies on the final day of play. The junior tied for 10th individually to earn his sixth top-10 finish of the year and the second this spring.

Freshman Michael Feagles and Junior Dylan Meyer joined Hardy among the top-25 individuals on the leaderboard. Feagles tallied a 3-over par final round score to tie for 21st, while Meyer used a 1-under par third-round tally to move into a tie for 25th overall. Meyer shot even on the front nine Wednesday morning, and used back-to-back birdies on the 13th and 14th holes to negate a bogey at the turn. He finished at 4-over for the tournament.

Sophomore Edoardo Lipparelli tied for 37th individually as he shot 2-over par on Wednesday. Lipparelli posted three birdies on the day, and scored 8-over par for the tournament.

Freshman Bryan Baumgarten closed the final round at 2-over par as he recorded consecutive birdies down the stretch to negate two of his early bogeys. Playing as an individual, Baumgarten shot 10-over for the tournament to tie for 46th.

Freshman Giovanni Tadiotto tied for 71st individually, finishing the final round with a 4-over par tally. He was 20-over for the tournament.

Hosted by UNLV, the Southern Highlands Collegiate was held on the Par 72, 7,510-yard course at Southern Highlands Golf Club. The Illini joined 10 teams ranked among the top-25 according to the latest Golfweek Sagarin rankings in the field, including No. 2 Florida, No. 3 Oklahoma State, No. 7 USC, No. 9 Texas Tech, No. 10 Stanford, No. 11 Oklahoma, No. 17 UNLV, No. 23 San Diego State, No. 25 Arizona State, No. 34 Pepperdine, No. 48 New Mexico, California, SMU and TCU.

Next up, Illinois will prepare for the Lone Star Invitational, hosted by USTA March 20-21.
