CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois women's golf team is headed to Kennesaw, Georgia, for the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate set for Monday and Tuesday, March 27-28. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be played at the Par 72, 6,032-yard Pinetree Country Club, and will be hosted by Kennesaw State.
"A particular key for this golf tournament is handling the greens," head coach Renee Slone said. "Positioning ourselves properly and being on the correct side of the hole, and course management as far as strategy off the tee to put ourselves in a good position."
The No. 27 Fighting Illini will be joined by No. 13 Kent State, No. 24 Purdue, No. 35 Texas Tech, No. 45 Augusta, Chattanooga, Eastern Michigan, Georgia Southern, Kennesaw State, Maryland, Memphis, Southern Mississippi, Troy and Virginia Tech in the Henssler Financial Intercollegiate field.
The Illinois lineup for Briar's Creek will be Swing Liu, Tristyn Nowlin, Grace Park, Jan Prapassarangkul and Bing Singhsumalee.
The 14-team field will play the first two rounds on Monday, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Both days will have an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start.
