It was once again a successful weekend for the Illini, both current and former, on the course. Rising junior Dylan Meyer led the charge by taking medalist honors at the Tri-State Amateur in front of his hometown fans.Â
Meyer, a 2016 PING All-America Honorable Mention, has now earned two top-5 finishes this summer. Sophomore Edoardo Lipparelli also competed over the weekend, tying for 40th at the Brabazon Trophy.Â
Charlie Danielson spent the weekend in England, playing for Team USA in the Arnold Palmer Cup. Despite Europe taking the trophy, Danielson joined with partner Zach Wright to win his second four-ball match of the tournament. He also defeated Europe's David Boote to win his final match of the event. Danielson was named the recipient of the Michael Carter Award as well, which is presented to the Arnold Palmer Cup participant that best represents the qualities and ideals of sportsmanship, integrity and upholding of the game.
2015 Illini graduate, Brian Campbell, is on a roll on the Web.com Tour as he earned his fourth consecutive top-10 finish over the weekend, placing sixth at the Air Capital Classic presented by Aetna. Campbell shot 14-under par through four rounds to finish just three shots out of the tournament lead.Â

On the Challenge Tour, recent graduate Thomas Detry tied for 41st overall at the SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge hosted by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts. Both Luke Guthrie (T72) and Scott Langley (78) participated in the PGA TOUR's Quicken Loans National, while Steve Stricker hosted the American Family Insurance Championship, a Champions Tour event.Â
Langley, Guthrie and D.A. Points are set to participate in the Barracuda Championship beginning June 30.Â
Currently, sophmore Trevor Gold is participating in the 97th CDGA Amateur Championship at Calumet Country Club, while junior Nick Hardy is competing in the North & South Amateur Championship at Pinehurst. Head coach Mike Small is currently in New York for the PGA Professional Championship at Turning Stone. Tournament coverage will air on the Golf Channel.Â
