CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois baseball team won 66.1-percent of its games over the last four years, the program's best four-year winning percentage since 1960-1963 (.695).
Illinois went 145-74-1 between 2013-16, including a 64-30 mark in Big Ten games. The Fighting Illini had its best season in program history last year, when they went 50-10-1 and won the NCAA Champaign Regional on the way to hosting the program's first ever NCAA Super Regional. Last year ended a run of winning 65.5-percent of games over a four-year period (145-76-1).
Every Fighting Illini player that has played four years since 1979 has won 50-percent or better of their games. During the 35 straight seasons that ended four-year runs with a winning percentage over .500, Illinois has had 10 seasons finish four-year spans over .600.
