CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois baseball team travels to Sauget, Illinois, Tuesday to take on Missouri in the annual Braggin' Rights game at GCS Ballpark. The 6 p.m. CT matchup will be aired live on SEC Network.
GCS Ballpark, home of the Frontier League's Gateway Grizzlies, will host the rivalry game for the second straight season. Field box seats start at $10, while all-inclusive tickets (includes beer, soda, water and home plate buffet in the party suite area) are being sold for $50. Tickets can be purchased through the Grizzlies' ticket office at 618-337-3000.
"The Gateway Grizzlies are thrilled to host this event for the second year at GCS Ballpark," said Grizzlies' general manager Steve Gomric. "We expect to have a great crowd and an even split of fans because of the ballpark's location."
Last season, nearly 2,500 fans watched Illinois beat Mizzou, 4-3, on its way to a program-best 50 wins.
Andrew Mamlic (3-6, 4.22) will get the start for Illinois against Missouri right-hander Grant Macciocchi (1-0, 6.43). Mamlic, a fifth-year senior who is pursuing his master's degree in civil engineering, is set to make his ninth start, while Macciocchi has thrown just 7.0 innings this season.
Illinois (21-19, 7-8 Big Ten) will play two midweek games this week, including a Wednesday game against Southern Illinois. The May 4 game against the Salukis is Star Wars Day at Illinois Field.
