BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Malcolm Hill scored 18 points and collected eight rebounds in Illinois' 72-61 loss to No. 25 Florida State in the NIT Season Tip-Off third place game on Friday afternoon.
After slumping in his previous time out, Hill shot 6-of-13 from the field and hit half (2-of-4) of his shots from beyond the arc.
Leron Black provided a spark off the bench - scoring 15 and grabbing 11 boards. Freshman Te'Jon Lucas also contributed, scoring in double figures for the first time in his career. He finished with 10 points and four assists.
The Illini (4-3) head home to host North Carolina State on Tuesday at 8 pm in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
