Hi everyone! My name is Breanna Wonderly. I am a junior pitcher from Centerview, Missouri.

Last week was very eventful for the Fighting Illini, from volunteering with Operation Orange to our first games together as Team 16. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend. After a week of off-and-on rain, the weather finally worked with us.

We started off the weekend by volunteering for Operation Orange. The team divided up between different jobs to make boxes of Special K cereal from two giant "cones" which were towers of cereal around eight feet tall. Of course, with our competitive nature, we had to make it a race to see who could fill the most boxes. There wasn't an actual count on the finished boxes but I am pretty sure my table won (with KG, Kylie, Gunny, Steph, Jill, and Coach Trout)!

On Saturday we traveled to Peoria, Illinois, for a double header against Bradley and Heartland Community College. Based on our energy level and our bats, I think everyone there could tell just how excited we were. Working together to put up a total of 28 runs between the two games, we headed back to Champaign with our first wins under our belt.

The following day we had another double header against Kankakee Community College. Splitting on the day, we stayed together and continued to fight. We are looking forward to practicing on our weaknesses and becoming the team that we need to be in June. And judging from the experience of our opening fall weekend, things look very promising.
