Due to the Fighting Illini football home opener being on a work day (Friday, Sept. 4, at 8 p.m.), there will be a few changes to the football game day parking operations due to some lots being in use by University employees. Please take the time to read the information below before arriving on game day.
STREET CLOSURES
To accommodate normal work week traffic, street closure times will vary for the home opener vs. Kent State.
» Kirby Avenue will be closed between First Street and Fourth Street starting at 9 a.m. and will remain closed until after the completion of the game.
» First Street, between Peabody Avenue and Kirby Avenue, will close starting at 11 a.m. to accommodate food vendors as part of the inaugural Grange Grove opening. It will remain closed until after the completion of the game. First Street, between Stadium Drive and Peabody Avenue, will close at 4:30 p.m.
» Peabody Avenue, between First Street and Fourth Street, will close starting at 4:30 p.m. on Friday and will remain closed until after the completion of the game.
FOOTBALL GAME DAY PARKING LOTS
To accommodate those that are working at the University of Illinois on Friday, there will be some changes to football game day parking

» Game day pass holders in Lots 31, 34, 35, 36, 38, 40, 41, 42, 45, 46, and 47 will be able to park in their respective lot starting at 7 a.m. on Friday, September 4.
» Game day pass holders in Lot 32 will be able to park starting at 7 a.m. but will be asked to park farther south in the lot than normal until 3 p.m. If arriving to Lot 32 prior to 3 p.m. please enter off of First Street and parking staff will be available to direct patrons to open parking.
» Game day pass holders in Lots 37 and 43 will not be able to park in their respective lots until 3 p.m. on Friday, September 4, due to University of Illinois employee parking. If you would like to arrive earlier than 3 p.m. to begin your tailgating festivities your pass will be accepted in any game day purchase lot open that day. If you choose to park in a game day purchase lot early in the day you may move back to your respective lot after 3 p.m.
» The paved parking lots in Research Park will not be available for pass holders or single game purchase until after 5pm on Friday, September 4. However, the large grass lot, located in Research Park off of St. Mary's and Oak Street, will be available for single game purchase starting at 7 a.m. on Friday.
» Lot 33 will be available for motor home parking starting on Thursday, September 3 after 6 p.m. Starting at 7 a.m. on game day RVs will either need to pay the $40 to stay in the lot, or relocate to their respective game day pass lot.
» Patrons looking for single game parking options will have many to choose from starting at 7 a.m. on Friday. Lots 46, 47, 49 and the large grass lot located in Research Park off of Oak Street will be available for single game parking starting at 7 a.m. Parking fees for these lots are $20 per automobile. Automobiles with pull behinds will only be allowed in Lot 47 for $40. After 5pm on Friday, September 4, the paved lots in Research Park will be available for single game parking. Lot 44, Huff Hall Lot, will not be available for the opening night game.
» Those patrons looking for accessible parking starting at 7 a.m. may park in the handicapped parking spaces located in the three quadrants of the State Farm Center. After 5 p.m. there will also be an ADA Shuttle lot located off of First Street at the Yahoo building. An ADA accessible bus will provide transportation from this lot to the stadium prior to game and after the game. The fee for all ADA parking is $20 unless you have an I FUND parking pass. A disabled license plate or handicap placard is required to park in these spaces.
