CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The 18th-ranked University of Illinois baseball team announced the addition of a home game against Lindenwood University - Belleville on Wednesday, March 18 at 4 p.m. at Illinois Field. The Illini will welcome the Lynx from Belleville, Illinois, for the first-ever meeting in school history.
With the addition of this game, the Orange and Blue are in the midst of a 10-game homestand at Illinois Field, which they began 3-1 with a midweek win over Chicago State in the home opener and a series victory over Southern Illinois this past weekend.
Illinois will continue its longest stretch at home this season with a weekend series against South Florida (March 20-22) followed by midweek tilts against Illinois State (March 24) and Kent State (March 25).
The Fighting Illini (14-4-1) moved up one spot to No. 18 in the D1Baseball.com Top 25, marking the program's highest ranking since finishing No. 16 in the 1990 Baseball America final poll. UI is also ranked No. 18 by Collegiate Baseball, No. 25 by Baseball America and No. 27 by NCBWA.
