Champaign, Ill - Coming off of its Crooked Stick Intercollegiate title, Fighting Illini Men's Golf will continue the fall season on Sunday, Oct. 18, at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational. Held at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club, the Tavistock is one of the most reputable tournaments in collegiate golf. The 54-hole tournament will consist of three rounds, each beginning with a 7 a.m. shotgun start, Oct. 18-20.
The Illini will join 14 other teams at Isleworth, which boasts a 7,200-yard, Par 72 course, designed by Arnold Palmer. The course has been named the toughest and longest course in the state of Florida by the Florida State Golf Association.
Ranked at No. 1 in the nation, the Illini will see several other highly ranked opponents in No. 4 Florida State, No. 13 Georgia, No. 15 Florida State, and No. 18 Florida. Also making up the tournament field is No. 26 Cal, No. 34 New Mexico, No. 38 Texas Tech, No. 42 Augusta, No. 50 Arkansas, Baylor, Indiana, UNLV, UCF and North Florida.
