@IlliniWTennis Splits Up for Second Weekend of Fall Action

Casati, Boone Head to Riviera/ITA All-American Championships
URBANA, Ill. – With the second weekend of fall action upon them, the Illinois women's tennis team will split up and head to two different sites including the Purdue Invitational and Riviera/ITA All-American Championships. UI players competing at the Purdue Invitational open the three-day event in West Lafayette, Indiana, on Friday, Oct. 2. The Riviera/ITA All-American Championships, where Jerricka Boone and Alexis Casati will compete, will be held from Oct. 3-11 in Pacific Palisades, California.
Purdue Invitational – Oct. 2-4 – West Lafayette, Indiana
Teams competing in West Lafayette include Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisville, Memphis, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Mississippi State, Notre Dame and Purdue. Action will take place at the Schwartz Tennis Center, which features 12 outdoor courts in addition to six indoor courts.
Friday's slate includes two rounds of doubles action and one round of singles play with Saturday and Sunday's action still to be determined. First day play will open at 8 a.m. CT with the remaining days' start times to be determined based on weather conditions.

Riviera/ITA All-American Championships – Oct. 3-11 – Pacific Palisades, California
Casati and Boone will travel west to compete in the event, seeing action both individually and as a doubles tandem.
Pre-qualifying matches are slated to begin on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Pepperdine University, with qualifying matches starting on Oct. 6 and main draw contests getting underway on Oct. 8. The singles and doubles finals are scheduled for Oct. 11.
Main draw singles semifinalists, main draw doubles finalists and main draw consolation champions will receive automatic entry into the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, Nov. 12-15 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing, New York.
