CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Illinois women's soccer team earned the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year, announced the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) last week (Nov. 24). The Illini received the honor for the 14th straight year for posting a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
With the assistance of academic advisor Shari Clapp, head coach Janet Rayfield's squad notched a 3.39 GPA. A total of 582 women's soccer teams were honored with the award.
*Note: This award runs one school year behind. This season's (2014-15) will be announced next November.
