1. Illinois won its 35th straight non-conference game at State Farm Center, and extended its home-court winning streak in regular-season non-conference games to 46 in a row. The 35-game winning streak at State Farm Center against non-conference opponents ranks third nationally.
2. UI led wire-to-wire for the second time this season, as it also did so against Indiana State (11/27/14).
3. The first half featured several runs, beginning with a 7-0 spurt by the Illini to start the game. Midway through the first frame, UI used a 15-3 run to jump ahead 27-11. After Hampton's 10-0 run made it a six-point game, the Orange and Blue finished the first half on a 10-4 run for a 37-25 edge at the break.
4. Illinois had a plus-20 advantage at the free throw line, finishing 22-of-26 (84.6 percent) compared to 2-of-9 (22.2 percent) by Hampton.
5. The Illini posted a 14-13 edge in points off turnovers despite committing a season-high 16 turnovers.
6. Illinois held Hampton to 23-of-66 (34.8 percent) from the field and turned in a season-high eight blocks.
7. Senior Nnanna Egwu equaled a career-high with five blocks and is now 13 blocks shy of tying Deon Thomas (177 blocks) for first on Illinois' all-time list. Egwu also added 10 points and five rebounds.
8. Sophomore Kendrick Nunn poured in a season-high 16 points to lead all scorers and equaled his season-high with four 3-pointers. Nunn leads the Illini from beyond the arc this season at 16-of-34 (47.1 percent).
9. Senior Rayvonte Rice continued his streak of reaching double figures in every game this season (11) and every non-conference game of his Illinois career (26) by dropping 12 points, with 10 coming in the second half.
10. Sophomore Jaylon Tate connected on a career-high eight free throws, hitting every attempt to match his season-high of eight points without attempting a field goal.
11. Freshman Leron Black equaled his season-high with eight rebounds.
12. Junior Mike LaTulip drained a three, giving him a career-high four 3-pointers this season.
