- Favorite player is Derrick Rose
- Nunn continues the tradition of Simeon stars wearing the number 25 jersey at Illinois in memory of Ben Wilson, a prep basketball phenom who was shot and killed in 1984 before the start of his senior season
- The tradition of Fighting Illini players from Simeon wearing Wilson’s 25 began with Nick Anderson and continued with Deon Thomas, Bryant Notree and Calvin Brock
