Qualifying Singles Draw
URBANA, Ill. - The United States Tennis Association (USTA) released the official qualifying singles draw for the 18th annual JSM Challenger this weekend.The pro circuit event runs from Nov. 8-15 at the Atkins Tennis Center in Urbana, Ill. The JSM Challenger is the final pit stop of the USTA pro circuit season and the last opportunity to earn points into the Australian Open.
Several Illini will kick off play today in qualifying, including as Aleks Vukic, Julian Childers, Aron Hiltzik, Pablo Landa, Brian Page, and Tohsiki Matsuya. At 10:00 am, Vukic will face Alexis Halebian (USA) while Childers will face Clay Thompson (USA). After the completing of the 10:00 a.m. slate of matches, Hltzik will take the court against No. 5 seed Juan-Carlso Spir (COL) and Landa will square off against No. 2 seed Dennis Novikov (USA). Followed by the 12:00 p.m. matches, Page will take the court against Matthew Hagan (USA). Lastly, Matusya will face No. 8 seed Evan King (USA)
For those who wish to see the action live, admission to the JSM is free Nov. 8-12, then $8 for adults and $5 for students and children starting for the quarterfinal round and on (Nov. 13-15). For those who want to follow the action at home, go to procircuit.usta.com for live streaming.
