Orange and Blue Wrap Up Competition at Schwartz Challenge

Schwartz Challenge Results

West Lafayette, Ind. - The Illinois women's tennis team finished competition at the Schwartz Challenge hosted by Purdue from October 31 through November 2. Illinois finished the day with a 1-2 record in the final round of singles competition.

Jerricka Boone picked up a win over Miami's Christine Guerrazzi 6-7(4), 6-3, 10-7.

Grace Tapak fell to Miami's Alix Thurman 6-4, 7-5 while Madie Baillon could not hold on to an early lead and lost 3-6, 6-3 (10-8) to Miami's Andrea Badileanu.

On the weekend Boone went 1-2 in singles action and a combined 2-2 in doubles while teaming with Tapak and Hilton on different days. Jade Hilton went 0-2 individually and 2-2 while teaming with Baillon and Boone. Sophomore-transfer Baillon finished the weekend 2-1 in singles and 2-2 when working with Hilton and Tapak. Grace Tapak closed out the Schwartz Challenge with a 1-2 individual record and 2-2 when working in tandem with Boone and Baillon.
