CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Illinois women's basketball coaching staff is hosting a coaches clinic Oct. 25. Registration includes the ability to watch Illinois' practice that day and chalk talk sessions with head coach Matt Bollant and associate head coach Mike Divilbiss. Registrants also can purchase discounted tickets to the Oct. 25 Illinois-Minnesota football game through the Illinois Camps and Clinics office.
The day will start with Illinois' Homecoming football game against the Golden Gophers at 11 a.m. at Memorial Stadium, then the group will gather at the Ubben Basketball Practice Facility with registration beginning at 3:30 and Illinois' practice starting at 4 p.m.
At 6 p.m., Divilbiss will walk through the techniques used in the "Phoenix Break" that the Illini run. Then Bollant will teach Illinois' "Buzz" defense from 7-8 p.m. to wrap up the clinic.
For coaches who register by Oct. 17, a staff of three or fewer coaches can attend for $40 per coach. A staff of four or more can attend for $20 apiece. After Oct. 17, the rates increase to $50 and $30, respectively. Clinic registrants also receive a T-shirt and information packet.
