CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Illinois earned its third No. 1 ranking on Wednesday, this time by Golfstat, to become the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation for the first time in school history. The Fighting Illini were ranked No. 1 by the Golfweek/Sagarin rankings on Sept. 24 and earned the top spot from the Golf Coaches Association of America on Oct. 3.

Also in Golfstat's individual rankings, junior Charlie Danielson is ranked the No. 5 collegiate player in the nation, junior Thomas Detry is No. 8 and senior Brian Campbell is ranked No. 11. Freshmen Nick Hardy and Dylan Meyer are ranked Nos. 56 and 72, respectively.

Illinois completes its fall schedule Sunday through Tuesday, Oct. 19-21, at the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational at Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando, Florida.
